Iontophoresis for underarms

In order to help hyperhidrosis sufferers we have tested a system for the treatment of underarms using tap water iontophoresis. The current was delivered to the underarms using axillae electrodes sleeved in moistened sponge pockets. During 2006 four medical centres treated 28 patients using the sleeved axillae electrodes. Of the 24 patients who completed the treatment 23 had a good result (data on file).

The results of the study showed tap water iontophoresis for the treatment of hyperhidrosis of the underarms to be a very good second line treatment for patients where antiperspirants haven’t worked.

The axillae electrodes are available for purchase for use with our range of tap water iontophoresis machines. Prices for the electrodes and sponge pockets are on the 'buy online' page. If you require further information please call us.

We also have underarm sweat shields/pads available to protect special clothing or to prevent sweat patches on important occasions e.g. interviews. For more information and a sample please visit the Esteem clothing protectors web site.
